The challenge

Obtain detailed knowledge of the life cycle processes of two families of adhesives and assess their environmental impacts, as a basis for eco-design action.

The solution

The methodology followed in the study is a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), from cradle to grave. To address the challenge, a work plan has been established, divided into the stages set out in the ISO 14044 standard:

  1. Definition and objective of the scope
  2. Inventory analysis
  3. Impact assessment
  4. Interpretation of results

Value contributed

The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) has made it possible to determine the distribution of environmental impacts throughout the life cycle, identify opportunities for improvement in design and outline lines of action based on product eco-innovation.
